GEOMETRY ONLY — CraneSite illustrates reach and clearance geometry. It does not verify lifting capacity, stability, or safe operating conditions.

Diagram controls and clearance

Drag the main boom tip or jib connection to position it. Drag the boom body to change its angle. On a fixed jib, drag the jib tip to adjust its offset.

Drag the building to move it, the roof or far edge to resize it, or the pivot to change its height. The Clearance Guard limits motion to the operator-selected minimum.

How the geometry is calculated

Articulated mode sums each section's length plus extension at its accumulated angle. Hinges connect end to end. Articulated clearance is the minimum separation between all finite boom segments and the building rectangle. Intersections display COLLISION; the confirmed guard constrains continuous motion. Negative reach is behind the pivot; negative height is below ground. No physical articulation limits or ground collision constraints are inferred.

Horizontal reach = boom length × cos(angle)
Vertical rise = boom length × sin(angle)
Tip height = pivot height + vertical rise
Clearance = shortest distance from any boom or jib centreline segment to the building rectangle

The display measures centreline separation and excludes boom thickness. The plain Stiff Boom movement guard uses the upper near roof corner.

Stiff Boom assumes a straight, rigid boom on level ground. Reach is measured from the boom pivot, not the crane’s centre of rotation. Boom deflection and hook or rigging offsets are not included.
